Get Smoother, Clearer Skin With Skin Peels
Facial chemical peel treatments are quick, in-office treatments. They're combined with home care products to stimulate skin renewal. The combination helps the skin to appear healthier, plumper and tighter with enhanced skin smoothness and clarity. We've utilized chemical peel to assist in clearing away pimples, getting rid of acne, and to improve skin's texture. They may lessen the appearance of scars as well as lighten out one's complexion. Chemical peel smooths and evens out the skin tone in pigmentary disorder such as melasma and post inflammatory hyper pigmentation.
Why is exfoliating your skin so important?
When we are young, our skin works much more effectively and skin cells turn over and renew themselves naturally every 21 to 28 days. When we get to our thirties and forties, skin cell turnover slows down to renew every 40 days, which results in dull, tired looking skin. Exfoliation removes dead, flaky skin cells, promotes collagen production, and builds elasticity. If your skin is continually exfoliated, it will be forced to create new cells at a rate it did before the 28 day cycle started to slow down.
Chemical peels use acids rather than a mechanical method. The acid reacts chemically with the skin. Different strength and chemical produce different degree of penetration and injury that in term produces so called light, medium and deep peels. We do light and medium peel, but there are different levels depending on your needs. A chemical peel done in the office setting is much stronger than that of home skincare regimen.
Our New Advanced Corrective Peel is the deepest and most advanced peel SkinCeuticals has produced to date. All skinceutical’s peel products are epidermal. This peel works in the lowest layer of the epidermis, the basal layer, where live tissue and pigment dwell. It is considered a strong superficial chemical peel. This peel contains 14% salicylic acid, 14% lactic acid, and 10% phenylethyl resorcinol. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) derived from willow bark and exfoliates, unclogs pores, and regulates oil production. Lactic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sour milk that exfoliates, hydrates, and has disinfectant properties. Phenylethyl Resorcinol is an antioxidant derived from Scotch pine bark that lightens hyperpigmentation by inhibiting tyrosinase (an enzyme that causes hyperpigmentation). This game-changing combination of ingredients exfoliate and regulate skin discoloration, and have never been used together in a chemical peel until now.During application, as with most all peels, your skin will feel tingly and spicy. Your aesthetician will apply 1-4 passes depending on your skin’s reaction to each layer. This is a self-neutralizing peel, so it is very safe and predictable. Once applied it will continue to work for 4 hours in a controlled, slow release manner. It is important to not apply anything containing water to the skin for that initial 4 hour period to avoid irritation; this includes liquid makeup. You will also want to avoid exercise and extreme heat for the first 24 hours to avoid discomfort. Flaking and peeling will begin between 24-36 hours and will last for 3-10 days. Your post peel skin care protocol is comprised of all gentle products and of course chemical-free sunscreen. After the peeling process is complete you will notice complexion improvement including smoother texture, suppressed lines, more even skin tone, and a beautiful glow.
